Professional control of
personal grounding systems
To be able to guarantee the
reliability and quality of

important handling rules when
processing elements subject to
electrostatic discharge (ESD).
The company Wolfgang Warmbier
from Plastic Enclosures and Plastic Boxes - Electronic enclosures of ... Hilzingen/Singen, Germany,
produces and markets systems to
combat electrostatics. The activities
of the company include the
consulting and planning
of ESD
protection zones.
One example from the wide
range
of products is plastic case the PGT 2000 Personal Grounding Tester. This is an electronic test device for checking personal grounding systems such as wrist straps
and shoes. Through the attachment of ID modules to shoes and spiral cables and their assignment to the respective persons, the PGT
2000 test device
serves at the same time as an
admission control
system as well.
The measured resistance plastic case values are
saved
in the PGT 2000. They can then
be read out through an external PC
via a serial port. One PC can handle
up to 64 PGT
2000s.

Observing the pressure of
the streaming blood
The blood circulation has the
important task of permanently
providing all organs and
tissues with blood.
Among the blood
pressure devices there’s a
large choice for the most
different requirements.
Emco Meditek plastic case Pvt. Ltd. from
Bombay, India developed a
new device for observing the
blood pressure, the noninvasive
blood pressure (NIBP) for
the use in hospitals and ambulances.
Looking for an enclosure, the
company decided the Motec
with ergonomically sloped operating
front of OKW. The device has an
excellent viewing angle with a large
LED display which enables clear
visibility from the distance. The
measurements are based on
Oscillometric technique. In its STAT
mode, there are rapid measurements
i.e. 5 readings with the
interval of 15 secs possible.
The AUTO mode allows Clinicians to
set time intervals from 1 to 90 min
between each reading. The user
depending alarm setting is
selectable for all parameters.
By its low weight of 1.8kg, the device
is especially mobile. There’s a wide
range of cuffs including thigh cuff
(optional) available for observing
the blood pressure. The device
corresponds to the IEC 601-1 for
patient safety and IEC 601-2-30
for NIBP.
